PROJECT
Genghis Grill is a fast casual, Asian stir-fry concept that allows guests to build their own bowls from over 80 ingredients or choose from a variety of signature options. As part of a brand evolution, the Irving, TX-based company rolled out a new 3,500-square-foot prototype design to set the standard for future locations.
FUSION AE partnered with Genghis Grill to implement this vision, starting with a remodel of all DFW-area locations and the opening of a new end-cap site in Grand Prairie, TX in January 2020—marking their 15th DFW location and 57th nationwide. This new prototype introduced a fresh market bar, bright interiors, and colorful booths to enhance the fast casual restaurant experience.
PROCESS
The redesign included kitchen upgrades, removal of vertical elements to provide a more open feel, wayfinding elements and an updated color pallet. Bright interior, more vibrant colors, and a new graphics package now define the space, including multi-colored banquettes and yellow chevron-patterned cloud elements that help bring the room down to scale.
The bar area was designed to be more appealing with larger flat screens and a pair of frozen drink machines. The bar-top changed to marble-style solid surface material, matching the counter at the grill where guests assemble their bowls. The bar has the infrastructure to support dine in guests as well as carry out customers—with adding new signage, the bar now also serves as the designated pick-up spot for to-go orders.

RESULT
The result is a bold, energetic space that enhances the guest experience and aligns with Genghis Grill’s brand identity. The restaurant reflects a functional and engaging design that supports both dine-in and carryout traffic, setting the stage for continued growth.
