PROJECT
Schlotzsky’s newest inception of the “Austin Eatery” is a definitive statement in capturing the vibe and energy that is Austin, Texas – the birthplace of Schlotzsky’s, that started as a small sandwich shop in 1971. This concept takes customers back to its roots with an Austin-Centric restaurant with the first location built in Duluth, Georgia. The project included ground-up construction featuring eclectic design elements such as interior walls made of recycled wood and corrugated metal, as well as patio seating to enhance the dining experience.
Schlotzsky’s Austin Eatery has an edgier eclectic and indie feel to target a wider demographic base—featuring wall graphics, reclaimed wood, amid varying textures of brick and corrugated metal, found objects, and featured seating. The restaurant features a bar serving local craft beers and a wider menu offering of sliders, tacos, flatbreads and famous sandwiches including The Original.

FUSION AE was proud to work alongside the Schlotzsky's team on the concept design implementation and production roll-out. Our responsibilities included architecture and engineering services tailored to reflect the latest exciting and fun new concept for a great brand. The development of this new concept is to bring the Austin vibe anywhere in the country.
